Routine blood screenings can be just as important as physical exams when it comes to detecting changes in your pet’s health. This is particularly true for middle-aged and older pets.

Annual blood screenings for heartworm and lyme disease are recommended for dogs. Routine blood testing, fecal testing, and urinalyses are performed at the Clinic. Additional diagnostic testing can be performed when needed. In recent years, there has been a tremendous advancement in DNA, PCR, and genetic testing.

Our veterinarians and technicians perform much of the bloodwork here at the Clinic, with results ready to report either the same day or the day after your appointment. There are some tests that require us to send samples to other laboratories. In addition to bloodwork, we can screen fecal samples for parasites and perform urinalyses.
